Food

If you’re like me, or like any normal human with good taste, you love food! One very important attribute to traveling is getting to experience different dishes from all over the world. With these food experiences, it’s my pleasure to bring these dishes at home to the kitchen. I didn’t use to like cooking because with my kidney disease there are a lot of limitations with what I could eat. Now that I’ve had my second transplant, these limitations have loosened up, but I still want to keep this kidney pumping so what I do is try to make these dishes as kidney healthy as possible. That means low sodium, low processed foods and very limited red meat. So with some foods come substitutions and although I can admit that these substitutions might take away some of the authenticity of the meals, it doesn’t take away the goodness in how they satisfy the taste buds.

On this page, I will upload some kidney friendly recipes along with some tips and substitution options for those who have dietary limitations. I do love going to restaurants and checking places out so I’ll add some photos and reviews of different places I’ve gone to that I think deserves your attention at least once in your life. Please feel free to shoot me some suggestions or questions of any kind!

At one of my favorite spots in Ventura: Limon Y Sal. I go there for their tropical margaritas, shrimp tacos and the after dinner dance parties!
